Abdifatah's Story

Abdifatah grew up in Fresno, California and worked as an airport shuttle driver and was taking his pre-requisites for a nursing program before being laid off in 2020, when he moved to Minnesota to be closer to family. Abdifatah enrolled at Rasmussen University to pursue his studies and learned about Hired. After doing some research, he found that he qualified for many of the services offered and decided to apply to the Adult WIOA program.

Abdifatah connected with one of Hired’s counselors, who supported him as he navigated the challenges of being a student.

Without Hired’s partnership, Abdifatah believes that he would not have been able to attend school and as a result, would not be a nursing graduate.
