Brandi's Story: Diversionary Work Program

Hired started working with Brandi in early January. Her employment counselor worked closely with her to revamp her resume, determine what career field she felt passionate about and how to pursue a new job.

She had previous customer service and supervisory experience, so she applied for a Customer Service Representative position at Comcast. Shortly after, she was hired on in February at $14.71/hour plus commission.

A few weeks later, the coronavirus pandemic started and Brandi was worried for her new position. Thankfully, Comcast promised all employees there would not be any layoffs, and also gave all staff hazard pay, including Brandi who had only been employed for three weeks. Brandi feels grateful to continue working during this time, and Hired is eager to support her through the pandemic and onward.
