Long-term Partner Associated Bank Supports Hired and Job Seekers for 10 Years
Among Hired’s corporate supporters, Associated Bank stands out for its established and multi-faceted partnership.
The company has demonstrated its commitment to Hired and job seekers in a variety of ways – including grant funding and event sponsorship, board service, and in-kind donations -- over the past ten years.
Jim Vitt, Senior Vice President, Market Manager at Associated Bank, has served on our Board of Directors since 2020. “When I was asked to join the board of Hired, I was encouraged by their mission of providing sustainable careers, not solely providing ‘a job,’” said Jim. “It further resonated with me when I learned how prevalent Hired is in working with single mothers.”
“My mom was a homemaker raising 6 boys when my father began struggling with mental illness and left her mostly a single mom for several years,” continued Jim. “We had the benefit of living in a small town that rallied around us and gave her employment that became a career, eventually becoming a senior vice president of the local bank. In a city of over 3 million people, Hired is able to provide that community that benefitted our family so greatly.”

Associated Bank plays an active role in helping communities grow and prosper. One way the company does this is by convening Community Advisory Councils to address systemic economic development and equity issues. Hired has been an active member of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Community Advisory Council , elevating the voices of our participants as well as issues and opportunities we see on the ground in community.
Just last year, Associated Bank made a direct impact by donating 40 refurbished laptops to Hired participants. For individuals in a training program or actively applying for jobs, having their own laptops enabled them to update their resumes, complete online training, and search for job opportunities.
When a participant receives a laptop, they’re so grateful. It provides a platform for education and career development that brings them great joy.
