Quantez's Story

Quantez grew up in North Minneapolis with dreams of becoming a barber. After enrolling in barber school, Quantez went to a workforce center on Lake Street looking for resources to help him get through school and reach his goal, and a staff member recommended Hired.

While working with his counselor, Quantez learned that whatever effort he put in, Hired would be with him each step of the way.  He put in time and effort to improve himself, knowing that the increased patience and reliability would help him in all areas of his life.  With Hired’s support, Quantez was able to move into an apartment with his three children and receive financial assistance while he was enrolled in school.

Today, Quantez feels like a whole new person because of the coaching and support he received from Hired, describing his life as peaceful and feeling very vibrant. With his recent graduation from barber school under his belt, Quantez plans on getting his barber’s license and has also started his own business focused on hair styling. 

Quantez continues to pay his success forward, referring Hired’s programming to local youth, many of whom look up to Quantez.
